Not being a dick but it would be a lot easier if you put up what you want to do to your car and people can suggest parts that will help you get there safely and cost efficiently.

That being said, there are a couple of budget branded FMIC packages that have gotten good reviews on nasioc if you search for them in the Parts Review section.

I just bought a bigger ebay TMIC and it is NOT a direct bolt on as advertised. It looks like I will need to get a different y-pipe (silicone samco or similar) to make it fit. You said you're looking at a FMIC, just beware that a lot of the no-name ebay parts require some ingenuity on your part to make them work.

I wouldn't do it. I put a fmic on my 02 wrx and hated it. After a week I missed the tmic but it was too late after hacking my bumper. Car just didn't seem to run like it used to, granted I was dumb and did it on a stock turbo, but a friend of mine had a fmic on his 20g equipped sti and he complained of similar jerkiness, which I believe has to do with the fact that you're adding so much more piping after the maf. I dunno exactly, I've been out of the subaru game for a loooong time so information could be slightly misconstrued but the only fmic subie that i've had personal experience with that ran AWESOME is my friend's wrx thats equipped with a gt30r and blow through maf (which should eliminate all the problems I was referring to) BUT, like I said, got rid of the wrx a long time ago and moved onto bigger and better things so I've probably forgotten a lot since then.

EDIT ~ Forgot to mention the fmic I got WAS the ebay one. Its not perfect but its not awful.

ebay intercoolers are trash. the TMIC i had on my '07 WRX made the car run like complete shit. and the turboxs FMIC i have on my STi keeps drivability exactly like stock.

It has been proven time and time again that the same results can be achieved with the OEM STI intercooler on a stock turbo versus a front mount on a stock turbo.

BC what up?

I have a fear, that fear is that you have the most dangerous of the modding bugs, yes, MODDING FEVER!!

What I mean is you are just jumping at mods, I fear.. as guys are telling you, if you pick a path you will be happier.

I will suggest some mods...

TinyWREX Flat Foot Shift and Launch Control
Typhoon intake
TXS TMIC
GMBCS
JDM auto intercooler sprayer switch
Kartboy Pitch-Stop Mount (Dog Bone)
Walbro 255
COBB sway bars
Kartboy end links
CarboTech brake pads
front and back strut bars
Goodridge SS Brake lines
Whiteline Race transmission mount bushings
Perrin subframe lock down
Kartboy short shifter
Kartboy shifter bushings
GTWorx rear camber plates
RCE front caster/camber plates
RCE Tarmac II's coilovers
Whiteline steering rack bushings
Beatrush belt cover
Tein hood dampers
Front grill Subaru emblem delete.
Hardwired Valentine One
Hella Super Tones
AutoSpeed dead pedal
AutoSpeed guage bezel w/ boost and oil pressure Guages
Blacked out Dash
JDM hazard switch
WRX fogs w/ fog light fix
Painted snorkus, belt cover, fuse cover, coolant reservoir and WW sprayer reservoir
Dealer option sub-woofer
Carbing under panel
Rally Armor Flaps
Rolled rear fenders
Fire extinguiser
Armrest extension

That is just a random list.. :)

Some of those are $20 mods you can fell.

I think a FMIC is TOO much for your set up. You will get boost lag and none of the kick in the ass. 8)

Sways are awesome, blacking out your dash, in a black car, hotness.

JDM hazard switch, hot.

JDM sprayer switch, yes...

If you want power for the $'s talk to Chad about upgrading your turbo, plus injectors, fuel pump.

Oh and FSS and LC.. :)

I would second going with a larger QUALITY TMIC and getting your stock heat shield ceramic coated. It will do wonders to control your heat soak issue. Also, a turbo blanket would be very beneficial in that area.
