My 1993 Honda Accord EX is for sale, title in hand. Asking SOLD!
Here are the quick stats:
1993 Honda Accord EX
Auto Transmission
286,340 Miles on odometer
MPG: I usually average around 26 miles per gallon.

My Honda is a great example of a well taken care of and well maintenance automobile. I do all my own work and have made sure that this car is in the best mechanical working condition that I could. It has the normal clear coat peeling off on the hood, roof and part of the rear trunk that you often see on the older Honda cars. This also includes rust around the fender wells and a few other small spots. The interior is in really good shape with the exception of a few spots that you will be able to see in the pictures. But other than that it is really clean compared to the majority of the others I have seen lately. I drive it the majority of the time as my daily driver and it has treated me very well over the years. As of today it currently has 275,113 miles on it but the engine runs very smooth, as does the transmission. Which is not surprising to me since it is a Honda; and I have done everything possible to take care of it. Here are all of the things that I have done to the car since I have owned it for the last 3 years.

Brand new battery
New timing belt & balance shaft belt
New water pump
New balance shaft/oil pump seal
New complete fuel injector o-ring set
New head gasket. I removed the head after I hear a grinding noise when the water pump went bad. The car was still running when I heard the grinding noise. To be safe I removed the cylinder head to inspect everything. The valves and pistons were in great shape. The noise ended up actually being from the old water pump, where the bearings had just about disintegrated.
Damned cold AC just had the entire system converted over to the new stuff and fully charged.
New brake pads and rotors up front (the pain in the ass type rotor pressed onto the wheel bearing and hub where you have to remove the entire spindle, good times)
New rear rotors and brake pads
New brake master cylinder
New Dot 4 brake fluid
Drained and filled the auto tranny fluid and replace it with Honda fluid.
New brake light switch pad
New fuel filter
New radiator and also thermostat since I was in there but kept the old cap with no issues
New plugs and plug wires
New cap and rotor
New electronic control module in the distributor
New valve cover gasket set
The tires have decent tread on them.
New wiper blades
New oil change with Honda filter and Rotella T6 synthetic oil.
New air filter
New Sylvania low beam bulbs and high beam bulbs
New drivers side power window motor and regulator
Installed front axles left and right with new seals axle seals as well.
New muffler
New outer tie rods
New oil pan gasket installed
New drivers side upper ball joint installed

When purchasing a used car I always want to know what works and what does not. Here is the list of things that I can think of that work great.

AC is super cold
The heat in the winter time will literally melt your face off
All the vent controls as well as the heat/AC control system and buttons work.
Driverís side and passenger side power mirrors work
Rear defrost works
Power sunroof works and does not leak
All turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights have been changed when I got the car and all work
Horn works, and is quite loud
All power locks work
Fixed the loose glove box, it now closes nice and tight
In the 105 degree heat the car runs at a perfect operating temperature
The stock stereo works, minus the tape deck, and all speakers work and sound pretty good for a 93
Low fuel light works great as does the fuel level sensor and gauge
All interior lights work
Dimming switch for dash works
Dash clock works
Child safety locks on the rear doors work
Brakes work great though the ABS has never worked since I have owned the car. Too expensive to fix so I never did.
The top of the windshield didnít have the pretty metal weather stripping on it when I got the car and is started to leak water so I had to improvise with an industrial sealant that I had at had with me and it has worked perfect to keep it sealed and dry ever since. Though it might not be the best looking fix
The rear seats unlock to fold down to allow you to open up and expand the trunk space if needed. They work with the same key as the ignition and doors.

This is the list of things that either donít work, or work but are wearing out and need to be replaced.
This is the list of things that either donít work, or work but are wearing out and need to be replaced. Or I am not going to replace.

Passengers side power window just recently quick working. Will replace it this weekend.
Crack in windshield on lower passenger side that has always been there but has never been in the way and has always passed inspection without any issue.
ABS light has always been on and has never worked. Brakes work great without ABS.
SRS light has always been on since I owned the car and the cruise control doesn't work either. I think the clock spring/roll connecter needs to be replaced.

UPDATES Today

I just purchased and installed new outer tie rods today because I noticed they had a bit more play than they should have.
I installed the new axles today with new 36mm spindle nut.
With the axles out I went ahead and purchased the new axles to transmission case seals and installed them today.
Rotated the tires.
Didn't have time to install the muffler but will tomorrow.
Going to try to buy and install the new drivers side window regulator also.
Also going to try to replace the clock spring/roll connecter this week as well.
Oh, and get an alignment too.

MORE UPDATES THIS LAST WEEK!

There was always a bit of a stumble or hesitation at part throttle so I decided to fix that as well as getting the idle dialed in better. To do this most people just try to use carb cleaner in the EGR ports, etc. But that is usually a temp fix if a fix at all. So I decided to really get all of that crud and grime out of it the right way, and for the love of God and all that is holy, I have never seen so much crud buildup in my life. Basically I just took apart the entire intake assemble and component attached to it, then spent a lot of time cleaning it out with carb cleaner then using a power washer to get in the places within the intake that can't be reached easily with brushes and pipe cleaner type tools. Drilled out the plugs the replaced them. Good times.
Finally got around to installing the new muffler.
Finally ordered the window regulator and it should be here either Friday or Monday from what I was told.
The pressure wasn't quite right with the windshield wiper fluid so I replaced the tubing and also the nozzles with the misting kind.
Also replaced intake gaskets, throttle body gasket, etc.

Couple of pics of the intake parts.

Have a good friend of mine who is interested in your Accord as he is needing a new daily driver as far as getting to work and such. He want's to know if we can plan something two weeks from this Tuesday so he can look at the car. He had an 1991 Honda Accord, but the frame got so rusted out it was pretty much falling apart. I showed him this thread, are you about done with the repair work to it?

hmmmm okay, I'll let him know that it would need to be Tuesday evening. Originally he wanted to try for Tuesday afternoon so he could get it registered and what not at the DMV. Tell me a time that would work for you in the evening so I can tell him in advance. Just set a time and date that would work for you, don't know your schedule and he can modify his day to look at the Accord.

I went to check the plugs and after all of the gasket changes I still had oil in the spark plug galley. So I pulled the valve train assembly and replaced the last 4 seals. Then did a valve lifter adjustment. Took a couple pics and the settings must not have been right because the pics are very dark then a couple of them are not. Meh.

I bought the new oil pan gasket but still haven't done it yet. I want to wait until I get the engine/tranny mount so that I can do that while I am already under the car and have the motor lifted to get to the pan. So basically oil pan gasket, new oil filter and oil.

Couple of things that I fixed today. There was a vibration up in the front drivers side wheel that was even more noticeable after installing the new upper ball joint the other night. So I pulled the driver side wheel and pulled entire steering knuckle and then pulled the pain in the ass rotor and replaced it with a new one. The pads were not wearing evenly so I pulled the caliper and realized that the caliper wasn't sliding smoothly on the caliper bolts. I fixed that and bought new ceramic pads as well. I replaced the pads on the passenger side front as well of course. Those pads were wearing evenly.

Whoever buys this car one day will have a helluva solid car.

No problem. I didn't have anything scheduled - until I looked out my front window this morning at 8:30ish. That's when I saw that a big limb from the oak tree next to my driveway had broken during the night & was blocking the street. So, instead of going bike riding at Longview Lake I went out with the sawzall to start cutting off the branches blocking the road. Thanks to a guy with two chain saws (who just wanted the big pieces for firewood) the limb was off of the street by 1 O'clock, and we had it all cut up by 3:30. So much for a nice quiet Saturday. :p

I haven't had time to put the new harmonic balancer on yet or the rear tail light seals but I will try to get those done soon. I am now dropping the price to the following then I am throwing it up on Craigslist. Something came up and I now need to sell the money to gather up some funds. New price now. $1,200 firm.

The windshield is cracked worse now unfortunately. At 1,200 I am not going to replace it. But at this point I am just selling it as is. Still driving it every day and today I now have 286,235.

Dropping the price again to 1,100. I need to sell it as soon as possible now. Need to raise funds for some unexpected bills.

Going to talk to a friend that needs a cheaper car. I'll see what he thinks and get back with you.
