So i have been doing some reserch and was wondering about 18X8's on my 03 WRX sedan. I want to make sure they clear the struts well and fit. lol I really want the 18x8's but what tire size should i get. I hear 245's are too big and 235's are OK, but i cant find enough evidence of tire size on the 18x8's to say they are good. Let me know. Thanks!Tire-rack says Rec. Size is 225/40-18 on a set of them .

i've got 18x8 rota torques on mine with a +35 and i'm running a 225 40 18 and i like the look of it, and still enough rubber on the ground to handle great.... just my opinion.

so after so research,

Used wheels/ Tires - 600$ish
Used wheels/ New tires 800-1K$
New Wheels/Tires - 1K

I need new tires more than anything, so just running used tires is out. Im also thinking 17's now to keep away from the monster truck look. So after everything i thing new wheels and tires is the way to go.

Also looking for a All season tire.

Ideas welcome. Im about ready to give up.

If i upgrade to a 17x7.5 with a 225/45-17 tire i think i will be happy. But what tires are good?

I will make a list below this that has the tires im looking at. / wheels

TIRES---

The reviews on tire - rack say that they are horrible tires. But that means almost nothing. Im kind of liking the Gen. G-MAx tire myself. Still reading reviews though

I have a set of 17x7 oz prodrive p1s, 4x100, color: anthracite which is basically a dark grey. They are in great condition and would look perfect on your 03 (I know because I had them on my 03).

+1. I got my last set of all seasons there and it was a good deal. Falkens and it was about $312 shipped.

You should definitely get Advan AD08 since you only drive the WRX during summer months.

For the record people fit 18x9's with 255's with very minor adjustments. You have a sedan not a wagon.
18x8 with a 35ish offset and 245/40/18's should fit just fine. Maybe need fenders rolled.

This couldnt be anymore incorrect. This whole thread minus the tire discussion is failing.

if i were you i would get blueberrys old setup. they are just sitting there and local. im sure you would be getting a great deal on them and they are in great shape for used. he takes amazing care of his stuff. then do some suspension stuff and give your car a better stance. then call it a day.. BAM 2 birds and fractions of the price it would be to buy new 18" and tires.. plus tires for 17s are alot more common and cheaper.

New ones are 17x9 with 245.40.zr17's .... when these tires wear id like to see if 255's will fit, that would be better IMHO

Fender roll and lower. Maybe some slight camber adjustment.
