Here are the best 15 from the scooters event. Honestly I am not too proud of any of these and like a formula 1 racer I have a whole basket of excuses to why they did not turn out. Still, it was a great meet and I look forward to the next one.

All shots done on a Canon Rebel XT with a Canon 70-200mm f/4-L

Anyone got $1,300 lying around they can give me so I can get a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8-L?

The image quality of the kit lens is a joke and having been spoiled by the 70-200L I can't even dream of putting that thing back on. I did try it once while trying to do some wide angle "story" shots at 18mm f/22 and the quality difference was like having sex with a super model every night for a year and then being handed a barbie doll and being told to make due.

I have been wanting the f/2.8 for a year or so but have too many other expensive hobbies and not enough money to go around to them all. My favorite is the full frame Evo except the damn lamp post reflection across the windshield :x

i hear you there, the only time i use my kit lens on my nikon is when i shoot at close quarters... i dont think the lamp post in the windshield is that big of a deal. the only people that would pick that out would be the eye of a photographer. i take a lot of pics that i think are ruined because of something like that but other people like them. i think all the ones you posted are great

Honestly it is all about the lens instead of the camera. I had bought my friend's 2 y/o XT when he dumped his money into an XSi. Unlike him I dumped all of my money into a $700 lens whereas he is still using the kit 70-300mm lens. Yeah he has a newer image processor and higher MP count in his camera but when it comes to image quality, color, and sharpness I win hands down.

To sum up my rambling here, if you are on a budget and can't decide which end to pour the majority of your funds, go with the better lens over a more expensive body. (Granted this is thrown out the window when you get up to the Mark I's)
