I'm going to start posting bulletins about products that you all might be interested in. This is the first and while not yet available for Subaru it is very interesting and I'll let you know when they do add Subaru to their product line.

AEM Electronically Tuned Intake (ETI) Systems


Once again AEM is raising engineering standards with an all new series of innovative air intake systems call ETI systems. With a revolutionary ETI module and fully integrated design, AEM has eliminated the need to detune or stage an intake tube diameter as it crosses the MAF sensor. The sensor is electronically adjusted to read proper air density instead of using physical tube designs intended to “trick” the MAF reading. The result is bigger horsepower and torque gains.

Most modern fuel injected cars use a Mass Air flow (MAF) sensor to determine the air flow rate into the engine and meter fuel according to input from the sensor. The relation between the voltage output of the sensor and mass air flow is adversely affected by a shift to a larger diameter intake tube because the airspeed is reduced. This causes the MAF sensor to “under report” air flow causing a lean condition at worst and a Check Engine Light at best. To accommodate MAF sensor reporting, many intake systems reduce the diameter of the intake tube near the MAF sensor to stock or near stock size because of the need to maintain the correct air speed for the sensor to report the correct flow rate to the ECU. AEM's ETI Intake System is an alternative design approach that allows the intake tube to maintain its diameter resulting in more air flow into the throttle body. The ETI Intake System allows AEM to tune an engine for even more power by avoiding any tube down-sizing that will reduce overall airflow and horsepower. Instead the ETI electronically communicates with the MAF sensor to ensure an accurate amount of fuel is being delivered even though the tube is larger in size than the stock system. This means the vehicle maintains the calibration as intended by the factory while enjoying the benefits of our custom designed aftermarket intake system.

Drop Race Bushings

As far as I'm aware, they don't have WRX or STi bushings at this time.

Published prices are the manufacturer's MSRP. However, I am presently having a "Grand Opening Sale" for KCSubaru members and since costs fluctuate regularly please PM or email me for a quote.

COBB XLE BOV & Evo 10 Turbo Inlet


COBB Tuning announces the immediate availability of the COBB XLE BPV for turbocharged Subaru vehicles. The COBB XLE BPV is a compact and lightweight by-pass valve is capable of holding very high boost pressure without leaking and its unique design allows extremely fast venting of boost when actuated. It is designed to operate in multiple venting modes and can be quickly reconfigured using simple hand tools. COBB Tuning announces the immediate availability of the 3” FP Turbo Inlet Hose for the Mitsubishi EVO X. The COBB Tuning 3” FP Turbo Inlet Hose is designed for use with Forced Performance 3" turbos. HKS released a sport exhaust system for the 02-07 WRX and 04-07 STi the system is bare bones but still utilizes a three inch diameter and with a retail of just $549 it should move well even in a crowded market.

Turbo XS has released an 08+ STi exhaust system and the whole first production run is on its way to Turn 14. This system is like their 02-07 WRX exhaust sytem in the fact that it can only work with other Turbo XS exhaust components, meaning it must be run as a turboback system. With that in mind Turbo XS has launched the line with an attractive MSRP compared to the market. While a catback system is listed below it cannot be used individually, it is merely available so that customers who already own a Turbo XS stealthback for their 08+ STI can upgrade to a turboback.

STRi X Line Version 2 gauges are now on the shelf in large quantities. After quality control issues with the Version 1 X line gauges STRi went back to the drawing board and is now back with Version 2. These units feature higher quality components for a longer lasting product.

HKS has just released an exhaust manifold for the 08+ Subaru WRX / STi. It is an OEM replacement (using the standard 2 bolt uppipe connection) which comes with gaskets and a heat shield blanket. This unit is 409 Stainless Steel. MSRP was set aggressively by HKS at $595, this will make it significantly less expensive than most manifolds on the market today.
