View Full Version : Windshield Wiper Failure

So, Drew and I were driving around on Saturday when the passenger side wiper decided to stop working. When we use the windshield wipers, the wiper just quivers. However, the driver side wiper works perfectly.

Can't be the motor. Drew doesn't think a fuse blew and thinks the teeth may be stripped.

Anyone else with similar experiences?

No, can't say as I've ever had that happen. Did the blade freeze to the windshield?

Teeth probably stripped out.

I have had a wiper fall off before though.

Barrett has the wiper assembly from my wreck. shouldn't take 30 minutes to swap,,, :)

I think the passenger side is connected by 2 arms to puch pull the second wiper..

First thing I would check is the nut at the base of the wiper. It will have a cap on it. Might be as easy as tightening that, then I would start digging in to see if one of the arms cam off. These parts are under the black plastic tray infront of the windshield.

Ha oooh no. We can manually move the wiper how it is supposed to work.

I'll get in there this week when it warms up a bit, as we don't have a garage of any kind :(

Thanks for the help guys!

Jeff, I'll hit you up if I need some parts.

That would be pointless.

Barrett045 has them all.

hey i had this exact thing happen to me. me and my buddy were kickin up a bunch of snow in a parking lot and it crammed snow under my wiper which caused it to pop off of the assembly so the passenger side stopped working so i pulled it off and cleaned out all the snow and ice and put it back down and it works fine so it may be a simple fix.

I may have an old motor, too. The different years do have different motors FYI. I had a heck of a time getting mine to work correctly in my wagon because all my parts were unmarked.

Here's the problem, she needs a new passenger side wiper arm and mounting bolt as they are both stripped.

On with the crappy cell pics:
