This one is a biggie. Info is still being released but Subaru is already on the list:

http://www.nhtsa.gov/About+NHTSA/Press+Releases/Vehicle-owners-with-defective-airbags-urged-to-take-immediate-action

Subaru: 17,516 total number of potentially affected vehicles
2003 2005 Baja
2003 2005 Legacy
2003 2005 Outback
2004 2005 Impreza

As of now the safercar.gov VIN lookup tool is broken. But I'm sure it'll be a while before dealerships have parts and stuff ready, anyway.

Be sure to use the VIN lookup to check recall status:

I called LSS because my car falls in line with the Imprezas listed, but the VIN lookup returned nothing. Terry said the VIN lookup is what they use as the determining factor.

Well, they've done an about face on my car's status. I got a letter in the mail last night that my front passenger airbag needs to be replaced. It said they are collecting parts and will send another letter when I'll be able to schedule the work to be done.

I got my letter today! It said the same thing. Wonder how long its gonna take before the parts are in?
