View Full Version : Change of plans for my E85 setup

After much thought and looking at budget numbers I have come to the conclusion that I am going to stop buying parts for my quest to convert to E85. At this point I just canít rationalize spending all of the money I need to spend to get it converted. And if I honestly look at how my car is running at the moment I need to be happy with its performance. It may not be the most powerful Subie out there but it does pull like a bat out of hell for being a conservative 91 octane tune.

So at this point I have purchase a td06 20G, had stock STi sidefeed injectors modded to 816cc and a Walbro 255 in tank fuel pump. (The injector/pump turned out to not be adequate for running E85 so I headed down the path to the Bosch/Topfeed conversion.) I purchased a set of Aeromotive Top Feed fuel rails, about 10ft of stainless steel braided 6 and 8an sized line, and some Aeroquip AN fittings. I also purchased a set of 07STI topfeed style TGV housings that have almost finished porting and am almost ready to do the welding of the holes.

I am going to put all of this together in a post and see if anyone is interested in purchasing any of the components.

This is the list of items that I think I am going to put up for sale in the sale section. This includes a bunch of stuff I have lying around I need to get rid of.

TGV housings with TGVs deleted
Aeromotive top feed fuel rails
Stainless steel braided fuel line
Some different AN fittings
TurboXS Knock/Shift light
Stock 6disc stereo(not 100%sure I want to sell it yet)
Steel car ramps (canít use them on my STI)
Stock Heat Shield
Stock catted DP
Full set 98Forester springs, 2 still new in plastic bag and 2 used for 6 months
2 front struts for 98 Forester 6 month use
Full stock WRX TR catback exhaust (2 pieces)
4 stock WRX springs, not sure about the year exactly
STI Stock boost gauge

It kind of sucks that I canít take it to the next level but oh well. Maybe another day I will get the chance to do so.

Shit happens. It'll be ok, just enjoy it for what it is. I think you have one of the best $ / HP setups out there.

I was just told Vibrant stopped making their header, so I will likely go EWG without one. :x

Man all you need is a bosch 044 pump and maybe a few other fittings and you should be there. They have been modded to fit in tank in place of the walbro.

Who modded an 044 to fit in a subie tank? I am aware of a handful of 044's in tank.

Here are the pics of the worlds first SRT fuel cannister WITH the 044 modification

Elscoob - GL with it, no matter how you decide to fuel it, it WILL be fun.
